Hours before the 11:26 a.m. launch, photographers begin setting up at the Kennedy Space Center press site. STS-135 Atlantis blasted off on Friday, July 8, 2011. It was the 135th and final shuttle launch, successfully capping off the 30-year-old space shuttle program.
