In New York City's Times Square on August 14, 2014, on the 69th anniversary of the end of the war, WWII vet Sydnor Thompson, 90, reenacts the famous kiss with his wife, Harriette, 91, both of Charlotte, NC, in front of the just unveiled sculpture of the kiss. Their son, US Navy Chaplain Sydnor Thompson Jr. looks on.
